We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded our third green flag - the theme for this flag was "water".

This is testimony to the trojan work that was done by our Green Schoools committee (pictured below hard at work) and Mr Curley and his Science club.

Two members of our green schools committee along with Ms Glenny and Pauline, will travel to Cork soon for the presentation of the green flag and we will be officially raising the flag before the end of school year... Watch here for updates!!

Our green code for this flag was:

"Stop the Drop"

Each class is represented on the Green School Committee which meets once a fortnight. Below are photos from a recent meeting of the current committee. They have already formulated our Action Plan for this year and we have just completed an action day... click here to see what we did...

In January 2011, we participated in the BT Young Scientist Exhibition where our project "Stop the Drop" won an award. As part of that project, we completed a whole school survey of our water usage and as a result, major changes were made to our school including the purchase and installation of push top taps in all bathrooms and classrooms.

As part of our Energy Project last year, we participated in the BT Young Scientist Exhibition in Dublin with our project "Power in the Wind". To view photos from that day, click here.
