Welcome to our school.

Scoil na Maighdine Mhuire, Newmarket on Fergus, Co. Clare is a mainstream national school with 185 students, 11 full time teachers and 4 Special Needs Assistants (SNAs).

We have a wonderful Parents' Council who are involved in many initiatives at our school.

Founded in 1959, ours is a mixed school under the patronage of the Bishop of Killaloe. We welcome enrolments from all denominations. The motto of our school is "Each working for the good of all" and everyone in our school community tries to live out this motto in our day to day encounters with each other. We have adopted the Incredible Years Programme at our school. This programme seeks to promote childrens' social and emotional competence through positive behaviour management strategies.

Recently, we have adopted the Accelerated Reader programme which promotes competence and confidence in reading.
